Program Description: A to Z In-Home Tutoring provides Alaska certified teachers and
degreed educational professionals that tutor students individually in the comfort and
convenience of their own homes or a mutually acceptable public location. All tutoring is
one-to-one, not in a group or online. Strict chaperone policies result in parental
involvement and family coaching from A to Z tutors. Tutoring programs are individualized to meet the specific academic needs of the student. Tutors use a wide range of nationally recognized curriculum; but pre-tests, post-tests and curriculum are all
aligned to Alaska performance standards. |

Program Description: A+ Grades Up is a family-owned quality tutoring company. We
have been providing tutorial services to students through the No Child Left Behind program since its inception in 2002. Our instructors are all state certified teachers. Our
instructor assistants all have a Bachelors degree. We offer quality tutoring in Reading
and Math. We instruct in a small group setting with 4-8 students to 1 instructor. All of
our instruction takes place in person, never via the computer. In the districts that allow it,
we provide instruction at the school the student attends. We offer tutoring immediately
following the end of students’ school day. |

Program Description: The Alaska Learning Labs (former SERRC – Alaska’s Educational Resource Center’s Supplemental Education Services – SES) are excited to continue providing supplemental education services to communities throughout Alaska.

Program Description: The Anchorage 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) program works with certified teachers and paraprofessionals to provide small group assistance, individualized one-on-one tutoring, help with homework, skill development in core academic areas. The program is designed to serve up to 100 students
at each of the designated School Improvement sites. It provides services after school 2
hours per day, 5 days each week, from October through May and is held at each of the
schools. Low teacher/pupil ratios allow for individualized instruction. This loops the
school day and after school program, and ensures quality. |

Program Description: ASD SES will provide intervention and remedial instruction to
students in a small group setting (1 teacher to10 students maximum) at each participating
site. Our model is one where teachers from the schools use research based content and
deliver intervention/remedial instruction to students in small group sessions. Pre/post
assessments are used to ascertain growth and success of interventions. Instruction will be
both small group and computer-based depending upon the needs of the individual
students. Monthly progress reports pertaining primarily to student progress toward
academic goals will be shared with parents. |

Program Description: Dr. Hardwick Learning Center has been providing year round one-to-one tutoring for students at all levels for over twenty years. At Dr. Hardwick Learning
Center, we conduct an initial assessment to determine the student’s needs. We explain
the results of the assessment to the student, the parents, and the classroom teacher. We
then design a program of individualized instruction to meet the needs of the student. The
teacher begins at the student’s level and progresses at the student’s pace, ensuring the
mastery of concepts at each stage. As goals are met or needs change, the program is
adjusted to address those changes. All instruction is done on a one-to-one basis at before
and after school hours. |

Program Description: Reach For Tomorrow (RFT) Online Academic enrichment is an
online mastery of learning program which offers the student an Individual Program of
Study (IPOS) based on an initial assessment in reading, writing, and math skills, daily
access (7 days per week) to a live tutor for current homework help from 10 AM to 9 PM,
and monitoring throughout the entire academic year to ensure lessons are completed and
students progress using the IPOS. This program can be completed at home or at school
using a Windows based computer platform any time before or after school, or weekends.
The minimum required is 1 hour a day for 4 days a week to meet desired improvement in
academic areas of reading, writing, and math skills for Alaska state standards. |

Program Description: Your child (3rd - 12th grader) will be assigned to a Read Right
Certified Tutor. She will determine the starting range of books to be sent to your home. The range will depend on the severity of the reading problem and the age of the student.
The tutor will have a matched set of books and will phone your child at a pre arranged
time up to four times per week and tutor him or her over the phone. The tutor will guide
your child through a reconstructive reading process, applying strategic techniques
designed to help your child construct a new system in his or her brain for efficient and
effective reading. The tutor will talk to you regularly to keep you informed about your
child’s progress, and you will be sent a written report every month. |
