The Reviews Are In!

Here are just a few responses we've received through our Quyana program from parents and students about some of our outstanding teachers and employees.

Quyana | Making a difference for kids | ASD employee recognition program
Quyana to Mrs. Missal at Abbott Loop Elementary! I am a past student of hers and I still go and work with her from time to time. I just wanted to say thanks. She has inspired me to become a teacher — thanks so much.
-Melinda Jarvis, past student

Quyana to Mike Hanley at Gladys Wood Elementary! Mike Hanley believes in teaching the whole student even in grades 4 and 5. His students learn not only academics, but community involvement and high moral standards. My son and daughter were in Mike's class and became more well rounded people because of it. Their eyes have been opened to both the neighborhood and the world around them. They see value in contributing and supporting local merchants such as Tastee Freez, as well as sending aid for the children who were devastated by the recent Tsunamis. I thank Mike for all the extra time and effort he has put into making my children and all those he comes into contact with better students and people. He is a complete role model for all the youth of Anchorage.
-Sarah Afoa, parent

Quyana to Deneen Bozeman at Campbell Elementary! I would like to say Quyana to Mrs. Bozeman for the dedication & enthusiasm she puts into the work she does. My son has made tremendous progress in many areas over the last two years with Mrs. Bozeman. From stations to his sight words; Isaiah has gone from "I don't know" & "I can't" to "I can & I will try". Her positive reinforcement has given him the foundation & confidence to try anything! Thanks for all you do for our children!
-Leah Pili, parent

Quyana to Gail Hutto at West High School! This person is a very helpful, important, caring person! She is the most involved counselor at West High School in the native students services, or in other words, the Kanagnak program at West. She has spent more time with kids than I've ever seen any other teachers, or person do!
-Carmella Sosa, student
