State debt reimbursement for school bonds

The state reimbursement approved for bonds significantly reduces the cost to local taxpayers. Funding of the state reimbursement plan is subject to annual legislative appropriation. The legislature has funded 100 percent of the state’s debt obligation since 1992. During the 2015 session, the legislature placed a five-year moratorium on the program.
