Applying for a classified position
Classified positions do not require an Alaska teaching or administrative certification. Some of our positions may require specific licenses or applicants may be required to pass a post offer/pre-employment physical capacities assessment. Please read the job description thoroughly to ensure you meet the minimum requirements.
An applicant who is selected for a position will be contacted by a representative of the Human Resources Department with an official offer of employment. No other offer of employment will be considered official. If an applicant cannot be contacted in a reasonable time frame another applicant may be selected.

Note for returning applicants
If you've previously filled out a classified application or employee transfer request, and are returning to apply for additional vacancies, there are several important items you need to know.
Most ASD positions use the district's online employment application system, AppliTrack. View current job openings and submit an online application using this tool:

If you have previously filled out a classified application or employee transfer request, and are returning to apply for additional vacancies, there are four tasks you will want to complete.
- Login to your application by clicking the “Returning to Apply For Additional Positions”
- Go directly to the “Vacancy Desired” page and select the new positions you wish to apply for.
- Review and if necessary, update information on your application pages. Please double check your contact information to ensure it is current.
- Once the first two steps are completed, click “Submit” on the last application page to ensure your application is updated and submitted for the newly selected vacancies.
Logging into your application to update information only
If you are logging into your application to update information only, you may do so by clicking on the different page links under the heading "Navigation" once you are logged into your application. When you have completed all updates to your application, click on the "Log Off" link at the top right hand corner of your screen. A message will appear saying, "Your Application has been saved." Click on the button below that message that says, "Close Window and Log Off." Your application has now been updated.
