Main message: The things you love can disappear if you decide to make high-risk choices. Your supports, or assets, can help you not make those high-risk choices.

Main message: It’s your life! Your life is not a game of chance. Decide ahead of time how you will handle a situation that involves alcohol and practice responses ahead of time.

Main message: Our main message was to warn students to watch media with a critical eye. We also wanted students to know that not all students in high school drink. By getting involved in sports or clubs and activities students can make friends that share similar goals and not be peer pressured into drinking.

Eagle River High School - National Honor Society

Eagle River High School - National Honor SocietyStudents: Katie Sanders and Paul Groteluschen

Main message: We used modeling clay to create shapes and figures to portray some of the things that “shape” the lives of teenagers in our world today (sports, music, video games, and alcohol). We displayed the statistic that “85% of teenagers decided not to engage in binge drinking,” and followed that statement with a question to leave the audience with something to consider, “How will you be shaped?”

Main message: Succumbing to peer pressure can get in the way of goals and plans for the future, leading to “nowhere”. Even if you are headed down the wrong path, it is not too late to take control.

Manga/Anime GuildStudents: Hannah Vinson, Jackelynne Chubin, Ryan Miyashiro, and Ethan Harlan

Main message: The cartoons used humor and hyperbole to show readers that alcohol causes specific health damages and that alcohol use can also have other negative consequences.

Main message: You can be fun and cool without drinking. Students have the power to make their own choices. They are great and beautiful the way they are. Students have lots of support (even if they are not aware of it) and life is much better and more fun without drinking.

Main message: The main message of our campaign was that the decision to drink is never a just personal one. Teens lead connected lives, and they need to acknowledge that drinking can chip away at meaningful relationships – with friends, family, teammates, and so on.
