Job description for School Librarian

This is an open posting from the Human Resources Office, Anchorage School District. Applications are being accepted on a continuous basis.

Job specifications:

• Valid Alaska teacher certificate.
  Type A or C - with librarian endorsement
  
  OR:
  
  
• Valid Alaska teacher certificate with endorsement at grade levels for which applying; additionally, professional training must reflect course work in each of the following areas:
  • Library organization and administration
    
  • Cataloging and classification of all types of materials
    
  • Selection and utilization of print and non print materials
    
  • Reference materials
    
  • Local productions of audio visual materials

Application procedures:

• In-District Application: Submit the Employee Transfer Request Form 501
• Out-of-District Applicant: Submit the Certificated Application Form 1200 along with addendum for instructional level for which applying, valid Alaska teacher certificate, official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, and two (2) written references/recommendations.

Applications are available in the Human Resources Office at 5530 E Northern Lights Blvd location. Office hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
