Faith Christian Community
has partnered with Mountain View Elementary School
for about five years. They also partner with five
other schools. Their partnership varies at each school.
In one of their bulletins, they write, “crucial
to the heart and vision of Faith Christian community
is an outward focus of releasing ministry in the community
and participating in community life and being a blessing.” Well,
a blessing they are to Mountain View. The church provides
winter clothing, encourages teachers with notes of
appreciation and baskets of goodies on special occasions,
and assists as able with special school functions.
They stock a closet with sweat pants, socks and undergarments
for students’ needs. Over the years, they have
provided a full Thanksgiving dinner, turkeys, gifts
and food baskets for approximately 25 students annually
through their Angel Tree program. They provide a full
meal for families during the six-week parenting class.
According to Tina Victory, the Family School Services
Coordinator, “the
church’s involvement
is a positive experience for kids, staff and families.
Knowing we can request needs to them and they will
fulfill it is very helpful.”
Additionally they provide spiritual support to the
staff as requested. Pastor Keith joins some staff members
before school to pray for the students, staff and families.
He say, “it is a blessing to be a part of the
staff’s lives; it widens my circle of friends
and relationships. We just want to make a difference
in kids’ lives. Our goal is to bless
kids, I just wish we could do more”.
A parent, Sasa Lowrey helped deliver some of the angel
tree gifts. She said it made her feel so good to present
the Christmas gifts to the parents as she watched their
eyes fill with tears. One parent said she just couldn’t
have given gifts to her daughter this year without
the church. |

Our Parent Resource Coordinator, Tricia Anderson writes, “FCC
is such a blessing to our school and makes my job easier.
I know that I can call on them for various needs. They
can’t always help but will if they possibly can.
One year the pastor had a little extra time. He is
an artist and taught art to students. He was also here
on a weekly basis for staff to consult with or to send
their students to. He was a fantastic resource. Our
school nurse died that year and the pastor was an asset
to many teachers. He attended her funeral.”
We really appreciate Faith Christian Community!
