KCC Students Collect Toys for Inmates’ Children

November 28, 2017

Students in the King Career Center's Public Safety and Security class are conducting their annual community service project, Smiles for a Child. The KCC students are partnering with the Point MacKenzie Correctional Center in Wasilla to collect new unwrapped toys for inmates’ children because incarcerated parents are usually unable to give their child a gift during the holidays. The students hope to help make the holiday season special for these children.

Collection bins are located at the Education Center, King Career Center, and the local business listed below. The collection bins will be available until Dec. 15. If you have questions, contact KCC’s Teena Calkin at 742-8900 or calkin_teena@asdk12.org
