Security and Safety
About ASD Security
There are several components to our security program including trained administrators, security staff in Middle and High Schools, and a Staff Resource Officer (SRO) program provided by the Anchorage Police Department. Our schools have been retrofitted with new locks, have surveillance systems, and have intrusion alarm systems. Our employees are required to wear identification badges and visitors are required to be signed in and signed out and wear a temporary ID badge. ASD works with Parent Teacher Associations, community leaders and others to maintain a secure environment. ASD school grounds and facilities are for the education of our students and ASD sanctioned activities. Use of grounds and facilities by the public is governed by School Board Policy 850. Unauthorized presence on school grounds or in school facilities constitutes a trespass. Please help us maintain a secure environment for our students. Report suspicious activities to law enforcement.
The Staff Resource Officer (SRO) program is a collaborative effort by Anchorage Police Department, educators, students, parents, and communities.
See Something? Say Something!
Community is a key component to our Framework for Success. Please be vigilant and report suspicious activity on our school grounds to local law enforcement.
