The MECAC is the only standing committee that is appointed by the Anchorage School Board. The nine to eleven members of the MECAC advise the board on issues relating to multicultural students and their families.

Assistance for English Language Learners

The English Language Learners program provides services to students with culturally diverse backgrounds. Currently there are 94 languages other than English spoken by ASD students in the ELL program.

Request language interpreters for school events »   Parents can always call the ELL office for help at 742-4452. See the ELL Web page for more details.
