The CRAC is an advisory committee to the Anchorage School District Administration comprised, in part, of volunteer citizens. The committee reviews and makes recommendations to the Administration related to the district’s physical plant, including prioritization of legislative and bond capital requests and development of a six year capital improvement plan.

 

The primary goal of EEO is to support the School Board's Mission to "educate all students for success in life" by respecting diversity, accepting and celebrating individual differences, and valuing all employees.

 

The Municipal Code of Ethics developed by the Anchorage Assembly outlines exactly how ASD employees and officials should maintain the public's trust.

The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 is an education reform plan that contains the most sweeping changes to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) since it was enacted in 1965. It changes the federal government's role in kindergarten-through-grade-12 education by asking America's schools to describe their success in terms of what each student accomplishes.

 

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 made almost $60 million in education stimulus funds available to ASD. Read more about the act and how ASD is administering funds from the ARRA.
