For training purposes:

Anchorage School District Special Educators accessing this site for training on Statewide Assessment can enter the beginning of each section by using the blue buttons on the left of the window then progress through the section by selecting the "Begin Training" or "Continue Training" link at the bottom of each page.

When you have completed this training you will:

  • Understand legal requirements related to statewide assessment
  • Know the dates and content of Alaska’s statewide assessment
  • Know which students participate in statewide assessments
  • Understand options for students with disabilities when participating in assessment
  • Understand responsibilities of the IEP team related to assessment decisions
  • Have copies of Alaska’s Standards and Grade Level Expectations
  • Understand the difference between accommodations and modifications and how they apply to statewide assessment
  • Understand the special education teacher’s role in implementing and verifying accommodations for testing
  • Understand Alaska’s Alternative Assessment program for the HSGQE
